Tattoos
These days every other person you meet or see randomly on streets seems to have one or another tattoo. The most common site is the lateral border of their forearm, few are adventurous and have it made on the side of their neck. Anatomically as the major artery and vein of neck lie in its front compartment and the sides comprise of muscles, it isn't a very risky area to get a tattoo.
I got my first tattoo long time back, when it wasn't still a craze as it is in recent times. And I go to the tattoo studio with every detail planned before, though the artists almost always try to edit or modify my designs or fonts, it has happened only once where I gave in to a minor modification.
People with tattoos appear to be as rebel or some anti-social elements. Which is totally wrong notion, people covered with tattoos happen to actually have their heart drenched in love and care.
In India it's a different scenario though, many people here are blindly following the trend. I have witnessed few, who only after going to the tattoo studio decide on what to and where to get inked. I'm not here to judge or label anyone, I'm just sharing my observations.
So coming back to main topic, people with tattoos are generally thought as non-conformists and rebels. Making all kind of absurd art on their body, which was supposed to be fair, clean, trimmed and as natural as possible. Tattooed people make their body a canvas, and standout in public for such obvious reasons. It appears as if they don't care what anyone thinks, and are self-centred, following their whims and fancies (not caring about their family and future job opportunities, my mom gets these thoughts everytime I get inked).
But when we actually try to understand, these people who are trying to potray that they own their body and do things according to their wish, are actually the soft snails hidden inside the hard shells. They happen to give away the power over their body and mind to someone they love or are close to, and to reclaim back that power they try to make their bodies as their canvas.
Later on, you happen to fall in love with this art and get your favourite life themes inked, just for self.
As of now I have a pretty good number of tattoos and there'll definitely be an addition of few more to the list.
