I've come a long way..

From staying in a disbelief when someone said they liked me,

To loving myself the way I deserve to be loved

I've come a long way..

From having thoughts of giving up on this life,

To pulling out completely strangers out of such similar abyss

I've come a long way..

From waiting for someone to make me feel complete,

To looking for a partner who's secure in themself

I've come a long way..

From waiting for a perfect time and place to feel happy,

To making peace my resting state of mind

I've come a long way..

From keeping my poems to myself

To giving them a voice of their own

I've definitely come a long way..
